                          CHRISTMAS STOCKING STUFFING

I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT STOCKING STUFFING THE LITTLE ITEMS AND TRINKETS YOU PUT IN CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS. I HAVE A NICE IDEA FOR YOU AND FUN TO MAKE. WE AS WOMAN ALWAYS HAVE LITTLE SCRAPS OF CLOTH FROM OUR SEWING PROJECTS LEFT OVER. TAKE THE CLOTH AND CUT IT INTO SQUARES ABOUT 7 INCHES BY 7 INCHES BIGGER IF YOU WANT BIGGER SACHETS. OH! YES MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ELASTICS OR BITS OF LACE, YARN OR STRING EVEN LEFT OVER CHRISTMAS RIBBON... TO TIE UP THE SACHETS.

GO BUY A BAG OF SOME POTPOURRI FOR THIS CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA AND TAKE IT HOME.WHILE SITTING AT YOUR CRAFTING TABLE. JUST PORTION IT OUT ABOUT 1TBSP AND 1/2. OR MORE EVEN 2 TBSP IF YOU LIKE :). JUST KEEP IN MIND THE MORE YOU PUT ON THE CLOTH THE STRONGER THE AROMA.

NOW WITH THE BITS OF CLOTH  YOU CUT PUT A PORTION OF IT ON THE PRETTY CLOTH... PULL THE ENDS TOGETHER AND WRAP WITH RIBBON OR BITS OF YARN YOU HAVE. YOU CAN GET REALLY CREATIVE AND MAKE TASSELS OR ATTACH BEADS IF LIKE. DEPENDING ON WHOM THE SACHETS ARE FOR YOU COULD EVEN PERSONALIZE THEM. GIVE A LAVENDER ONE WITH ATTACHED NOTE: SAYING PUT INSIDE YOUR PILLOWCASE TO HELP YOU FALL ASLEEP AT NIGHT.

THE SACHETS CAN GO IN DRAWERS, PURSES, CARS EVEN THE BOTTEM OF THE GARBAGE CAN IN THE BATHROOM UNDER THE BAG. TOSS ONE IN THE GYM BAG OR HOCKEY BAG IT IS REALLY JUST UP TO YOU. FOR THE GUYS CHOOSE CEDAR WOOD OR PINE AROMAS THEY LIKE. BUT ALL IN ALL A NICE IDEA FOR STUFFING IN THE STOCKINGS HANGING OVER THE FIREPLACE. OH! YOU COULD ALSO PUT THEM ON TOP OF THE SPECIAL PRESENT YOU GIVE SOMEONE HOLDING THE NAME TAG.

I WAS READING ALL ABOUT LUCITE AND HOW IT WAS MADE....

FOR THIS IS WHAT I  USED FOR MY NEW PENDANT I LISTED IN MY SHOP. I MADE IT OUT OF A KEY-CHAIN AND A PAIR OF EMBEDDED LUCITE EARRING.. I AM VERY PLEASED, IT IS OOAK AND THE ONLY ONE... HANDMADE BY ME. I MADE ONE PENDANT AND ONE RING I KEPT THE RING FOR MYSELF. CHECK IT OUT THE LINK IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK :) JUST COPY AND PASTE INTO YOUR FAVORITE BROWSER.. OR CLICK THE ONE AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE WITH THE PICTURE OF THE PENDANT.

LADIES BRACELETS, EARRINGS NECKLACES, BROOCHES, AND EVEN PURSE HANDLES... WERE MADE OUT OFF LUCITE. YOU SEE LUCITE WAS NOT HEAVY AND WOULD HOLD THE SHINE AND NOT SCRATCH. THE LADIES WERE WEARING JEWELRY MADE OUT OF THIS. IT WAS USED TO MAKE THE TOPS FOR THE PLANES IN WORLD WAR TWO. THE  PARTS THAT COULD NOT BE USED... JEWELRY WAS MADE OUT OF.

THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF LUCITE ARE CONFETTI LUCITE WITH BITS OF CONFETTI, MOON GLOW LUCITE, GRANITE LUCITE, SOLID LUCITE PIECES LIKE THE COLOR OF JADE OR TURQUOISE OR CORAL. THE ONE I FIND MOST UNIQUE AND INTERESTING IS EMBEDDED LUCITE. TURNS OUT... THAT IT IS THE ONE MOST COLLECTORS WANT TO GET THERE HANDS ON. THIS EMBEDDED LUCITE WOULD HAVE LITTLE SEASHELLS IN IT OR EVEN FLOWERS AND MOSS AND NOT A LOT WAS MADE LIKE THIS. YOU CAN READ ALL ABOUT LUCITE ON THE WEB HERE IS THE STORY OF LUCITE.

The Lucite story

Lucite acrylic was invented by the DuPont Corporation in 1931. It was crystal clear with a 93% transparency rate, resistant to water and UV rays, and was low density yet stronger than previous plastics. It quickly became the material of choice for WWII aircraft windows because of its clarity, weight savings, and bullet resistance. Shortly after WWII other uses for Lucite were found including embedments. It has remained one of the best kept manufacturing secrets, handed down through trusted associates. Because of the tremendous technical knowledge required and the highly labor intensive nature, the total number of actual manufacturers are only a couple in the US. While much of the process is technically demanding, a basic overview is helpful to enhance understanding of the finished product. A Better Idea has been selling Lucite for over 35 years.

BLESSINGS AND STAY WARM
